Wheeling, IL – Waldmann Lighting, along with its medical division, Derungs, introduces ZERA, a new bed wall luminaire as interesting as its name. Three separate light scenarios work independently or in tandem to deliver the desired light output and color temperature depending on the circumstance: general ambient lighting (3000K), lighting for exams or simple procedures (4000K), a glare-free reading light (2700K). ZERA’s high color rendering index of Ra>90 makes it easy to perform examinations or treatments when necessary. Waldmann’s innovative free-form optic provides light where it is required, without placing glare on neighboring beds or persons.
ZERA is embarking on a new era of illumination for residents and patients, recovery rooms and intensive care areas with unrivaled innovation. All seams are sealed, meeting hygienic requirements for dust and bacteria management. The luminaire can be operated either on-site using available switches, from the nurse’s call station, or with the patient’s bed call switch. Options include VTL (Visual Timing Light), a bio-dynamic light management system that naturally improves the quality of sleep or recovery of patients and residents, as well as an integral night light. Light intensity can be individually dimmed using the DALI interface system. And the optional USB Network Gate makes networking programmable.
In addition, the aluminum body is anodized to attain a smooth, sleek look and feel, and measuring only 3 ½” long x 9” wide x 0.8” in height adds to the subtle and graceful design. So in addition to the practicality of ZERA, it definitely adds to the aesthetics of any room or public area as well.
