Since being founded in 1928 in Villingen-Schwenningen, Germany as an enterprise for electrical installations, Waldmann today develops and produces professional lighting for applications in the industrial, architectural, and medical fields. Considered the “Engineer of Light”, Waldmann is an innovator of lighting technology globally – with sales and production locations in 13 nations worldwide and a product range that encompasses complex lighting systems with integrated light management, task lighting for all applications, including inspection and test lighting.
Today, the company has a unique wealth of experience and expertise at its disposal when it comes to light and its physical and mental effects on people. A strong sense of responsibility toward the environment and sustainable use of resources are important parts of its corporate awareness as well. The goal at Waldmann has been to continuously improve all corporate processes. The Japanese KAIZEN philosophy serves as an important example in this joint endeavor to deliver technical perfection, innovation, and above all reliability. The entire value-added chain of complex production steps is performed in-house from development, design and the production of individual components to the finished product. All steps are perfectly aligned with each other – everything flows. Having the entire production operation in-house makes Waldmann enormously flexible and independent. With the flexibility to respond promptly to changing customer requirements – individual requests are possible at every level. This independence produces maximum quality. This excellent in-house production depth, has allowed for offering a wide variety of apprenticeship professions. Many of Waldmann’s best employees have been there from the start and learned their trades from the ground up. They have deep roots with the company and, thanks to the flat hierarchy, consider themselves entrepreneurs within the company. It is precisely this mutual trust that Waldmann’s corporate success is based on – ‘the human factor’.
