Waldmann’s Environmental Policy

Environmental Policy of Herbert Waldmann GmbH & Co. KG

At our company, ecology and economy are not opposing concepts – we see them as equally important. As a result, we practice environmental protection as an integral component of our work and as a commitment that governs our actions. We respect the concept of environmental protection in all of our business processes and all of our organizational units, on our own responsibility. Environmental protection is one of the management responsibilities of process owners. As in all management processes, our efforts focus on continuously improving our environmental protection measures, giving careful consideration to their compatibility with the expectations of our clients, the public and the owners.

Waldmann’s environmental policy is based on the following principles:

1. Environmental protection is the responsibility of management & employees

Environmental protection is a key management responsibility. Therefore, all supervisors and employees participate in implementing environmental protection measures on a daily basis with an equal sense of responsibility. Training and motivation in environmentally-conscious conduct in the workplace are a central element of Waldmann’s environmental policy.

2. Environmentally-friendly products and processes

When new products are developed and new production processes are introduced, they are examined for environmentally-critical materials and methods. The system as a whole is considered in order to prevent environmental problems from being shifted to other areas. The findings are used in developing appropriate organizational and technical measures, including any emergency plans that are required. Waldmann uses the best available technology, taking into account the economic costs.

3. Preserving resources

Measures are taken to reduce the use of energy, raw materials, and other natural resources.

4. Review of results

Waldmann regularly reviews the effects of existing systems that have an impact on the environment. The company is committed to designing its safety systems and organization in ways that either prevent negative effects on the environment, where possible, or greatly minimize them.

5. Integration of suppliers

We assist suppliers and clients in improving environmental protection as well. Suppliers who work on Waldmann’s factory premises are required to comply with the environmental regulations.

6. Compliance with and implementation of laws and regulations

Waldmann is committed to compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. We cooperate with the competent government agencies, institutions, and qualified offices on an ongoing basis. We ensure that we obtain the current state of the art in technology and the applicable environmental regulations to an appropriate extent, make them available to those responsible, and comply with them.

7. Prevention of waste and emissions

We either prevent waste, residues, emissions, noise pollution, and wastewater or reduce them to a minimum.

8. Pledge to customers and the public

Every Waldmann customer has the right to be certain that he or she has purchased an environmentally-friendly product. For this reason, we provide information on the environmental aspects of our product in connection with their handling, use, return, exploitation, and disposal.
